Don’t you know that whenever clocks’ batteries dry up they tick really fast and then die out? When I was busy trying to sleep last night (its really hard for me to sleep earlier than 1 am nowadays), I heard something ticking extremely fast and then stopped. I just watched an episode of Masters of Horror so I did what any coward who still likes horror movies would do, I covered my head with the sheets, closed my eyes tight and hoped that a scissor won’t come cutting through my pillow. Basically that’s how my restless night ended for I was able to sleep after that. When I woke up for my Sunday run I noticed that my clock had stopped and that pretty much led me to writing this thing now.
I guess that’s really how things go. Every time something ends, there’s this big bang that happens. Movies, especially thrillers for instance reveal their mind boggling twists at the last sequence. Marathoners get their final wind and sprint up on the last hundred miles before crossing the finish line. Theme parks close up with an extravagant fireworks display. Even intercourse ends with an extremely loud YES! or Ohhhh! (Unfortunately that last example does not apply to all)
This is because of different reasons. Most would think that they can do anything if they’re close to the end for they won’t be held responsible anymore. I’m sure many of us had thoughts of trashing at least one cubicle after being let go of our job. There are also those that do it in order to make a lasting impression, something to remember him or her by. Others just do these things for the heck of it.
One gets this feel of adrenaline rush. I myself have imagined that if I would die by a 100 story fall, I would do every super hero pose that I think of in the 60 seconds of my descent. Or whenever I get close to my house, I would floor the gas until all I can see on the side windows are streaks of light (Of course that never happened to me before, I’ll get to at least a hundred and 40 then my last right along the highway is clogged with cars because of traffic).
What I’m trying to say is that it has become customary for us human beings to end things with a big bang (a wholesome bang, come to think of it people do that other “bang” that you were thinking of.). We deserve to have the best exit that we can think of.
Oh and I just made the first sentence, the one about clocks. I did hear a fast ticking but I’m most definitely am sure that it was not the clock. I don’t really know if clocks tick really fast before dying out.
At least I made a bang on the end of this right? Or did I just piss you off? Peace!

You got me there Enzo. I thought that clocks really behave that way.
Anyway, with the big bang theory, I have to agree with you. A movie would become boring if the climax or twist will be revealed in the beginning rather than the end. And yes, we runners reserve our energy for a strong finish.
And hey, I do have sleeping disorder too! If it is called a disorder. I often wake up at around 3 in the morning, creepy!
@minnie haha! Waking up at 3am is weird! But I had the same experience before and I think its because you might be dehydrated.. drink plenty of water before sleeping. Not too much though, it might be 1st grade all over again..
