Unilab Wellness Run Race Results Championchip(pinoyfitness.com)
I just participated in the Unilab United Wellness Run this morning and I have to admit that I really outdid myself today. You see, I’ve been running before but not really the “serious type” so whenever I join these events I enter on the 5-kilometer category at the most. Unfortunately there were no more 5Km available slots left. I had no choice but to go for the 10kilometer run.
Knowing that I’m about to “tread uncharted territory” I had to at least prepare for it. Luckily I have co-workers which are also running enthusiasts although not that serious as well. We ran nights, after work at the Ayala Triangle. Things are going well for I am able to keep my pace despite having a “continuously inflating belly.
Two days before the run, our company treated us to an eat-all-you-can at Dads which made me think hard if I’m going to give in to all those food or just control myself in order to have a lighter body during the run.
Apparently, the temptation was hard to resist for I had almost for plates that night.
This actually added to my determination to finish the 10k for I needed to burn those carbs no matter what happens.
Night before the race day came and I was not able to get full sleep for I got hooked in playing Assassin’s Creed. This ended up to oversleeping which then resulted to us being late for our gunstart.
When we came to the starting line, the 10km runners already started and those standing on the area are 5km runners already doing their warm-ups. (This made getting through the crowd really hard)
We finally made it passed the starting line and I think me and my sister were probably the last ones from our division to start the race. So off we went to 10 kilometers without any warm-up at all.
I remember talking to my friends about how runners often on the verge of exhaustion suddenly gain energy to continue. They call it the “2nd wind” which what I was waiting when I approached the 3km marker. Unfortunately not even any kind of “wind” came upon me. There was only one thing left to do, I walked. I walked for about 500m.
A lot of people passed me and I had to admit that I examined each and everyone. Thinking that there was no way these people were at better health than me. I then started to run at a really fast pace but then felt exhaustion at about a hundred meters. I slowed down and maintained that pace up to the 7km marker. I was able to come across one of the people that we run with and stopped to talk. I’m glad to have seen her for if I didn’t I may have not stopped and continued on to the point of fainting.
Upon passing a hydration station, I saw more people pass me and it made me really frustrated (there was no way that they would finish before me) that’s when I got my energy back. I started to run again at a moderate pace which continued to ascend as I crossed the finish line. It was a great feeling of accomplishment (anytime you cross a finish line always is). I guess my wind was not called the 2nd or 3rd but a wind that knocked out my ego.
Now I’m just waiting for my Unilab Wellness Run Race Results “Championchip” to get another knock out of my ego when I find out how my sister kicked my butt in this run.

looking forward to future runs !
It was also my first 10K run then. Well, we all feel “serious runners” after quite a number of runs didn’t we? As for me, I would normally think, if they can ran that fast, I can too, right?
So, how’s the result?
Running makes me pant so hard. I wish I was three years younger then tatakbo ako hanggang karimlan. Keep up the fit.
