This really caught my eye as I passed through the shelves of a bookstore. Although I had to admit that my first impression was that it was a little childish. Then I thought of a very old saying and took it literally “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. I ended up purchasing it although the price was a little steep for me at that time (tough times guys!). Upon finding out how big the font size is and then knowing that every page had a comical illustration, I decided to take my time in reading the whole thing (to make the most out of my money). Anyway it turns out that it was one of the best 500 pesos I spent.
The plot is really simple: Tough times that a middle school student faces everyday. From avoiding bullies, impressing girls, getting good grades and even trying hard to make it in the year book as “the class clown”. Readers will definitely relate in away and maybe even reminisce their High School days. Personally it reminded me of Bob Ong’s ABNKKBSNPLAKo?! in an American setting.
Did I mention that there will be a live action film of the book which will be coming to theaters on March 16?
