Philippine Folk Dancers : Concert at the Park

Showcasing pure Filipino Talent, Concert at the Park has been around for years hosting artistic festivities which are composed of different performers every Sunday for people to witness. From an ensembles of musical instruments, powerful choirs, artistic dance numbers and other forms of art imaginable.

This time, a wonderful interpretation of Philippine Folk Dances will be presented. The university based group Hiyas ng Maynilad Dance Company from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila will be performing dances from the Kalinga Tribe of Lubuagan and Muslim Inspired production numbers.

The dance company consists of student scholars who act as ambassadors in promoting the rich Filipino culture to both people their age and those who have yet to appreciate the beauty of Filipino Art.

The Kalinga Dances from Lubuagan show everyday living in a community where people are all inter-connected. A true sense of family is interpreted in the dance numbers with activities such as farming, weaving, hunting and  even social gatherings.

Muslim Dances on the other hand play with amazing visuals. From bright colors to detailed textures of garments, eyes will feast upon the extravagance of living in the Mindanao region. A perfect mix of elegance and strength topped with a sprinkling of romance, these dances will definitely leave a mark to anyone who witness them.

Philippine Culture is truly a sight to see. To mix it with artistic expression and skillful performances, one would definitely have a worthwhile experience upon being present in a stage full of Philippine Folk Dancers.
